Important Update

Hello, thank you for visiting our website. We are excited to announce that we are becoming the newly formed Southwest Comprehensive Center (Region 9). In addition to serving Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas, we will also be serving Oklahoma and New Mexico. The current content of this website reflects resources from the 2019-2024 Region 14 Comprehensive Center, managed by Westat under a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The new 2024-2029 Region 14 Comprehensive Center serves the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE).

Stay tuned for a Southwestern makeover as we transition to the Southwest Comprehensive Center (Region 9).

Who We Are: Our Network

Comprehensive Center Network

The Comprehensive Centers program provides a national network of support for state and local educational agencies (SEAs and LEAs), schools, and communities to promote student achievement, increase performance among schools designated for improvement under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and equip education leaders with evidence and tools to address emerging challenges facing K–12 schools.

The Comprehensive Center Network (CCNetwork) is comprised of one National Center; 14 Regional Centers, covering geographic areas of the U.S. aligned to the Department’s Regional Educational Laboratories; and four Content Centers, reflecting key priorities. The CCNetwork helps SEAs and LEAs:

  • Improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all students

  • Close opportunity and achievement gaps

  • Improve the quality of instruction, particularly for groups of students who are most underserved

Each of these Centers offers no-cost services and products to support capacity building and increase academic opportunities.

The National Comprehensive Center develops and delivers high-quality capacity-building products and services to address pressing education needs and common challenges. As part of their work, they lead the Comprehensive Center Network, partnering with Regional Centers to identify and elevate emerging needs and share stories from the field to spread evidence-based practices and build capacity.

The National Comprehensive Center’s mission is to bolster equity by helping educational systems provide the resources, create the policies, and enact the instructional practices required for all groups of students to learn, grow, and achieve regardless of their identity and experiences.
